Description

A scientifically formulated and nutritionally balanced steam pelleted complete feed based largely on rice and rice bran. Manufactured from and fortified with only the highest quality ingredients, vitamins and minerals for horses involved in all levels of activity.

This combination of rice and rice bran as the principle ingredients plus the steam pelleting means that this feed is extremely palatable and digestible. As it is so digestible and being based on rice and rice bran, it is an extremely cool feeds and will not heat horses when fed in accordance with the instructions.

Contains 4.2% rice bran oil, naturally occurring in the rice bran, which is equivalent to 45 mls of rice bran oil per 1 kg. An average feed of 3 kg contains over 135 mls of rice bran oil.

Feeding Rates

This feed is designed to be fed as the sole feed to ponies and horses involved in all levels of activity. It is recommended that feed be weighed prior to feeding to ensure that over feeding or underfeeding doesn’t occur.

These feeding rates are intended as a guide only. The quantity individual horses require will depend on the quality of your pasture / hay, stage of training, intensity of exercise and body condition of your horse.

Notes

  • Weigh your horse or use a “CopRice Horse Weight Estimator” (available from your CopRice produce merchant or feed retailer) to gain an accurate estimate of your horses weight prior to feeding to ensure correct feeding rates.
  • CopRice M Horse should be incorporated into the diet gradually over a period of 14 – 21 days.
  • Always ensure that horses have access to cool clean water at all times.
  • The feeding levels listed in the table above are based on good quality pasture or pasture hay. If pasture quality is poor it is recommended that some Lucerne chaff / hay and or some white chaff be used as an extra fibre source.

This diet has been formulated based on the latest industry research and exceeds the requirements outlined in Nutrient Requirements of Horses, 5th rev. ed, NRC - National Academy of Sciences, 1989. It is designed to be fed in conjunction with good quality pasture, pasture hay and some lucerne hay- chaff / white hay-chaff if required.
