Brooke Campbell: Bangalow Equestrian
We have had a busy year so far, all the horses went great at the coastal shows, we had many placing’s and win’s in January. Copabella Voltage was our star, winning the Callahan memorial. The rest of the young horses have also stepped up into higher classes to prepare for the year.
In February we had the Peel River Tamworth indoor championships, I had a team of five horses at this show, with Copabella Voltage placing second in the futurity class and second place in the 1.30 class. Copabella Cashmir also placed in the 1.25 class with Oaks Castanza and Vouloir jumping clear rounds all show. This was Copabella Cadizs first show back after a big World Cup season last year and he's showing great form finishing third in the Grand Prix. Copabella Visage also showed great form winning the mini prix class!
March took us to the Castle Hill show where Cadiz jumped great, Visage also placed 5th in the mini prix and Copabella Voltage took another win in the 1.25 class. At this show I also had students competing, with wins in the junior and amateur classes!
March was a rather quiet month as Visage and Cadiz were pulled out of the Sydney Royal Show with minor injuries. Cadiz was set to start in the World Cup qualifier there so it was unfortunate that we had to withdraw him, he is now back in full work and good form. We have since decided to retire Visage from Showjumping, his heart isn't in it anymore, he will continue to be in work however, and is booked into his first dressage outing at the end of May!
We had our first rider’s series for the year in April, with Cadiz back in action placing 2nd in his class and Oaks Castanza 3rd. Copabella voltage took home another win in the 6yo series and our exciting young stallion Tulara Colmine won the 4yo class!
We then had the Oaks Sporthorses show, with the young horses, Tulara Colmine winning both of his 4yo classes, Copabella Voltage winning the 6yo class and Copabella Cashmir placing 5th in the 7yo section. A new catch ride for me Rosthwaite Comarche also won his two classes at this show in his division!
Then followed a weekend of world cups at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre, with Cadiz back in form placing 11th in the World Cup class! Tulara Colmine won his 4yo class again and Copabella Voltage won his 6yo class.
Last weekend was the young horse series final, we had an outstanding show with Copabella Voltage winning the 6yo championship and pointscore and Tulara Colmine winning the 4yo championship and pointscore, Copabella Cashmir placing 4th in the 7yo championship final!!
We have a quiet month ahead and a chance to get the less experienced horses to some training shows so they can catch up to the rest of the team.
Thank you again for your continued support, I always get many comments on how well my team of horses look, all thanks to CopRice Feeds!
