Wilson Sisters Update May 2013

The 2012 Horse of the Year Show was another success with over 20 wins and placings for the Showtym Team. The show started off well with Vicki placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the 1.30m, then going on to finish Runner Up in the Development Medal Horse Equitation title. Vicki placed in the 5-Year-Old, 6-Year-Old and Ngahiwi Chrome Xtreme finished Runner Up in the 7-Year Old Horse of the Year title and Showtym Cadet MVNZ 6th. Other highlights included 6th in the Speed Horse of the Year title and wins and placings in the 1.30m, 1.25m, 1.20m, 1.15m, 1.10m classes with some of the younger horses.

The Friday and Saturday night demonstrations were again a huge success with Showtym Spotlight, Showtym Ranger KH and Showtym Levado GNZ doing performances. These included bareback and bridleless jumping with Spotlight and also the Kaimanawa Ranger who was mustered out of the wild 9 months earlier. Ranger also did vaulting and stood still while the Holstein stallion Levado jumped over him.

In addition Vicki did a performance on Spotlight and Ranger on Thursday in the town centre of Havelock North to welcome Sir Mark Todd. Mark then rode Ranger during an interview for Campbell Live and they featured on TV3 that week. While we were at HOY they also interviewed us on our work with the Kaimanawas and a full feature interview about Ranger aired the following week.

Thanks so much for another wonderful season!
