Stuart Tinney: Jun/12

June 2012 News

Struggling to put pen to paper this month- with the very disappointing news that our Elite listed mare ‘Panamera’ injured herself a couple of weeks ago.

With a long campaign behind her, her win at The Australian Championships we had ‘high hopes’ of her representing Australia at the London Olympics next month. So how does one take that news? Personally I went underground for a few days (more like weeks now!) Went to the hairdresser, thought about having my nails done but resisted! Imagined a new career!  As for Stuart, well a true professional that he is, moved forward and looked towards what was ahead( unlike myself! Can’t imagine him thinking the same things as I was???) Ahead was Melbourne 3DE where he would run our own Orchard Hill in the CCI*** and Pluto Mio in the CNC*** a class for the shadow team riders/horses who chose to ride.

The weather was typical Werribee wet and cold. The morning of the cross country only 4 horses ran in the CNC*** which was a 7 minute run over a majority of the CCI** fences. Pluto went round like a canter in the park and moved into 1st position, with 1 rail in the show jumping he maintained his lead, winning the class.

Orchard was just super. Some time penalties only on cross country. (Oh it was pouring when he ran!) Plus an amazing show jumping round finished 5th. Take a look at Orchards show jumping round.

Just backtracking -The days before Melbourne 3DE... Gemma and I attended the Coonabarabran Horse EXPO.. What a 5days... rain, rain and more rain! However the wet weather did not deter the 700 interschool riders that came from 120 NSW schools! Only the polo cross and team barrels were cancelled! So little Gemma had the most exciting time with her ‘catch ride’ (her horse was injured) on Stuarts 1 star ride GOSH.. with only a few rides under her belt she placed 6th in the B grade eventing and had a clear round in her first show jump round and unfortunately GOSH slipped on a turn and fell completely over in her second round. No one hurt. GOSH adapted to the sporting and was ‘awesome’ (Gemma’s words) what a superstar GOSH was for her.

We have discovered a wonderful new E-Magazine ‘Pegasus’  This production should be no secret it has some amazing photography and content and so well presented. Stuart contributed to an article and we are very proud of the finished result, thanks to ‘Pegasus’ and Susie Jarrett the journalist that wrote the article.
