CopRice AusMaizing

What is CopRice AusMaizing pellet?

It contains 30% maize grain, with the remainder of the grain component being made up of wheat and barley. It is high in starch and has 13MJ of energy and 12% crude protein. Like other CopRice pellets, it is balanced with essential vitamins and minerals.

What are the benefits?

CopRice AusMaizing pellet is formulated to improve herd production and fertility in a number of ways.

  • The starch in the maize portion of the pellet is slowly fermented in the rumen to organic acids used for energy, therefore reducing the risk of rumen acidosis, commonly found in high wheat or high barley diets.
  • A high proportion of the starch escapes the rumen and gets digested in the small intestine to produce glucose. Glucose is a more efficient source of energy for ruminants; hence there is more energy available for the cows with AusMaizing.
  • AusMaizing will help to dilute the excess protein in lush grass during winter and spring, therefore reducing the need to get rid of excess protein.

When to feed?

AusMaizing pellet can be fed at any time of the year to improve herd performance but the most benefits can be realised during winter/spring period when it complements lush grass. Because of its safety and high energy efficiency, AusMaizing pellet is suited to prepare your cows for joining. It is recommended to commence feeding at least two to three weeks prior to start of joining and continue through joining period. For optimum benefit, feed throughout the winter and spring when there is lush grass.

In summary

CopRice AusMaizing pellet is about delivering feed that will promote safe rumen environment and provide more energy to your cow for improved fertility and production.
